Identification of Physical Problems of Patients with Acute Stroke

Background: Stroke patients experience a variety of physical problems which affect their activitiesof daily life. As there is need for identifying the with acute stroke in theinitial stage, present study was undertaken to identify acutestroke. Objectives: objectives were withacute stroke. Methods: This descriptive conducted at neurology department tertiarycare hospital Kerala. 60 selected by consecutive sampling technique.Physical identified standardised tools; National Institute HealthStroke Scale (NIHSS) and Barthel index. Appropriate inferential statistical methods wereused analyze data. Results: The major immobility (81.7%),lower extremity weakness (75%), upper (71.6%), loss bladder control (66.7%),loss bowel (65%), feeding problem (63.3%) communication like dysarthria(55%) aphasia (53.3%). Conclusion: stresses importance identification variousexisting emerging encountered preparation anursing care protocol, can be utilized future, managing problems.
